Founded in 1889, Hoosac is a college-preparatory boarding school set amid 350 acres of fields and woods allowing for variety of outdoor activities. Hoosac School works well with four types of students: 1)bright and well-motivated who want a small school environment, 2)bright underachievers who, for one reason or another, have not lived up to their potential, 3)those who need support due to some form of mild to moderate learning difficulty, and 4) students who have the talent, yet have received poor training in the past. With our mastery teaching, five-to-one student/teacher ratio, and structured adviser system, anyone who tries will succeed. Hoosac's athletic program includes a new indoor sports facility and pool. Available sports include soccer, lacrosse,tennis, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, skiing, snowboarding and softball.
